Sure, I may miss out on her road trip with her BFF Gayle or how to control my dog thanks to the dog whisperer. But guys, I’m prepared to make that sacrifice.

Edit. On reflection, in order to make me sound more “man”ly, please replace Oprah with Sportscenter.

About this Blog.

Like many of you I am a first time Dad with one girl and another on the way. My biggest gripe when looking for information about pregnancy, the labour & raising a child etc is that it’s mostly from the female perspective.

It’s not surprising that it’s mostly geared towards women, after all it’s a significant experience. But what about the guy who is just about to join the fatherhood club?

There just wasn't a lot of honest & open information (or maybe it’s my lack of understanding how to effectively use a search engine) that enlightens guys as to what is happening and how it can make you feel.  That’s right, deny it all you want, but a storm of feelings typically hits every guy as he slowly realizes the significance that is about to occur.

This blog is really about enlightening all you soon to be (or thinking about it) dad’s out there about my personal experiences of being a dad, including all the little victories, battles and mistakes that have occurred along the way.

I hope it all helps! The truth is that writing this blog is just as beneficial to me as it will be perhaps for you, as it’s a nice distraction from dirty diapers and the endless reruns on nickelodeon.

About Me.

I’m in my late twenties and currently a stay at home, working dad. Not always an easy balance and I’m often confused for simply a stay at home dad.

Even today, the concept of a guy staying at home whilst his better half goes off to work is still a novel concept. I even designed the site in a 50’s retro feel as a visual contradiction to the very thought of a house husband.

SO what else do you need to know about the person behind this blog (I refuse to call myself an author due to the likely high rate of spelling errors)? Well I like to take long walks in the park, and watch sunsets and eat chocolate ice-cream and ..... the really important thing about me is that I was petrified when I found out I was going to be a Dad, but I survived it.

Not only that I grew to love it, it wasn't and instant love of the ‘job’. It was something  I grew into and I became pretty good at it as well. Damn right if you are thinking it can’t have been easy, but hopefully I can offer some sort of advice that eases that internal panic alarm inside of you.
